Urban Prep Academies operates three public charter high schools specially designed to help boost academic achievement for urban students. The admissions process adheres to the following guidelines:

  • Blind lottery process with no evaluation of test scores, grades or special needs, or other status (e.g. race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.)
  • Applicants must be enrolled in the 8th grade and must reside in the City of Chicago throughout enrollment at Urban Prep

The 2017-18 lotteries will be held on Friday, February 3 at noon at 420 N. Wabash Suite 300, Chicago, IL 60611.  Families submitting applications prior to the deadline (Friday, January 27, 2017) will be entered into the lottery for their campus of interest. The acceptance letter will be mailed via US mail within one week of the lottery.

Families still interested in Urban Prep should submit a copy of the post-lottery application (seen below) for the opportunity to have their son's name added to the wait list at each campus of interest.
